Here is a shorter version of a presentation by Mr Dipal Barua, co-founder and Managing Director of Grameen Shakti, given in Singapore in October 2008 during the Asian Youth Energy Summit organized by Energy Carta at the National University of Singapore (they are partnered with Energy Crossroads at Stanford University). Laina, who also spoke at that conference obtained Mr Barua’s permission to repost his presentation. She has since visited the project in Bangladesh, included them in the Green Planet documentary and Grameen Shakti together with Prof Yunus new book “Creating a World Without Poverty” serves as inspiration for Geeks without Frontiers.
